Valley of the Dinosaurs Tour (2 Days)

NATURETOURISMCERTnewWhilst researching my new day trip called the Bush Escape I stumbled across some more amazing locations nearby to Dalli’s camp near Capertee, and I am pleased to say we can now offer a great camping weekend away which is also suitable for camper trailers and even the larger hybrid style caravans.

On day 1 after meeting at Capertee we will escort you into Dalli’s camp to set up camp nice and early. After setting camp and enjoying morning tea we will venture into the nearby Bush Escape property to explore its steep and loose tracks and admire the great views that are found throughout this large property. We have exclusive 4wd access to this property. After our day of exploring, we return to Dalli’s camp where we find hot showers, flushing toilets and plenty of firewood for that real camping experience of sitting around a campfire at night.

On day 2 Steve has allowed us to leave our camper trailers/vans on site (if you are towing one) whilst we venture further afield first to show you the long-abandoned shale mining town of Glen Davis and then travel into the country that gave this trip its evocative name- the Valley of the Dinosaurs. The tracks we will use will have you thinking you have been transported back to the Jurassic period. We will explore some of the most dramatic sandstone cliffs and canyons I have seen anywhere. One of the valleys is known as the Valley of the Dinosaurs, and whilst we can’t actually drive into it, the canyons we can drive through will give you a very good idea of what it looks like.

Of course, part of what I try to achieve on my tours is to introduce you to new locations in our great country that you might then wish to revisit after experiencing them with Great Divide Tours, I am sure that many of our clients will, like me, want to return and take the walk into the actual Valley of the Dinosaurs. By the way, the locations we will take you to will blow you away with their scenic beauty.

If you need to collect your van or trailer at the end of day 2 we will escort you back to Dalli’s camp just a few minutes back up the road. The trip will conclude at approximately 4.30pm near Capertee.

If you would like to travel up the day before the tour, we can also book a campsite at Dalli's for you on Friday if required, & you can also stay Sunday night if you wish.
