Snowy Mountains Tour (4 Days)

NATURETOURISMCERTnew

Over the years Great Divide Tours has been providing a 3-day fully accommodated tour around the Snowy Mountains, it has proved to be extremely popular. The area we travel through is absolutely beautiful and whilst the previous trips have utilised accommodation in Tumbarumba, we have recognised there is still a large number of people that enjoy camping in a tent or swag or with a camper trailer, 4Motion/Crafter or Sprinter style vehicle. With this in mind, the owner of Great Divide Tours, Vic Widman, has designed a great 4-day midweek get away based around the Snowy Mountains. The tracks are relatively easy, but the landscape and camp sites are outstanding. The nature of the tracks makes this an ideal getaway for all styles of vehicles. In fact, we think that once you have discovered this beautiful location with Great Divide Tours, it will allow you to revisit it time and time again with family and friends. We hope you can join Great Divide Tours and allow us to show you some of the best scenery and camp sites available in New South Wales.

The tour will commence on the outskirts of Canberra and head over the Brindabella Ranges to the town of Tumut. Then we drive up into the mountains of Batlow and across the Bago Plateau to drop off the hill side via a very scenic track to make camp on the shores of Blowering Reservoir, with water views for sunset and sunrise. Day 2 will see us explore the Bago Plateau, the Pilot Hill area and finally camp at one of the best remote area campsites in NSW at Paddy’s River Dam. Day 3 sees us exit the Bago Plateau along a dramatic trail that rises and falls with stunning scenery eventually arriving in Talbingo where we will explore part of the Snowy Hydro scheme before venturing into the very heart of the Snowy Mountains to camp on the Yarrangobilly River. The final day will bring us back to Bredbo just south of Canberra via Long Plain, Adaminaby and a beautiful back road across the Monaro district.

This is a self-catered tour, we will provide a gas BBQ in camp.
