Birdsville Big Red Bash Tour (12 days)

NATURETOURISMCERTnewFollowing the success of the Big Red Bash over the past six years, we will once again be leading you via some of the most iconic outback locations to the edge of the Simpson Desert to enjoy the concert.

We will be rocking the desert like never before! The artists for 2022 have been announced, this year will  include Australian music greats Jimmy Barnes, Missy Higgins, Kasey Chambers, Jon Stevens, Kate Ceberano, Richard Clapton & more.

For 2022 The Rolling Stones Review starring Adalita, Tex Perkins & Tim Rogers will join the lineup for the ninth edition of the all-ages festival, along with crowd favorites Bjorn Again, Sarah McLeod, Shannon Noll, Ash Grunwald, Jack Jones, Dragon, The Radiators, Mick Thomas, Mi-Sex, Steve Balbi, Chocolate Starfish, Batchelor Girl & Mel Dyer.

The concert will be held over three days with entertainment commencing mid afternoon and concluding around 9pm each evening. We plan to be part of this unique event once again and we have designed an incredible 4wd journey to get us out to Birdsville and Big Red via some iconic outback locations and remote 4wd tracks including Tibooburra, the dog Fence, Santos, the Dig Tree, Innamincka, Walkers Crossing, the inside Birdsville Track, the Birdsville Hotel, Big Red, Windorah, Thargomindah and a special two night stay at Kilcowera Station. The tour commences at Cobar, and concludes at Nyngan NSW.

All camping fees and National Park entry fees, Dig Tree access fee, early entry & four nights camping at "Bashville", three day entry/tickets to the Big Red Bash concert for two people, one nights accommodation, dinner & breakfast at the Birdsville Hotel, camping & 4WD tour at Kilcowera Station, and Dinner, Bed & Breakfast at Nyngan.

Basic Requirements for this Tour

The 4WD
Suitable to 4WDrives with high and low range. 
Suitable for Off Road Camper Trailers
Your 4WD should have recovery points located at the front and rear
All Terrain or Mud Terrain tyres with at least 50% of their original tread depth in LT or Light Truck construction, not Passenger (P) tyres
We recommend heavy duty springs and shock absorbers and a cargo barrier
A vehicle pre-trip check prior to departure is recommended

V8 & straight 6 Petrol engines  110 litres   
V6 Petrol engines  100 litres          
4 cylinder petrol & all Diesel engines  90 litres             


A UHF radio – we can hire you a radio
Carry a snatch strap and rated shackles (see our shop if you need recovery equipment)
Spare fan belts, fuel filter, oil and brake fluid
Assorted fuses of 10amp, 15 amp and 20 amp to suit the vehicle plus spare fuses for UHF radio and fridge

Driver experience 
Prior experience not necessary as we will assist you as we go or you might consider attending our driver training course. - Do you require Driver Training?

This is a self catered tour, bring your own food and drink requirements, we supply a gas BBQ for your use in camp. Carry 3 extra days of emergency food supplies.
20 litres of water per person up to a total of 50 litres

Camping gear
You need to supply your own camping gear, this is a camping tour there is no accommodation option. 

There are toilets and showers at some of our camp sites.

Refund Policy

Great Divide Tours reserves the right to cancel or alter any tour or course at any time. Great Divide Tours will determine if any refund is due if this action occurs.

In the event of you canceling a booking the following refund policy applies. Deposits are non refundable. If your booking can be reallocated to another participant then the deposit can be transferred to another tour of your choice which must be taken within 18 months of the original booked tour. The full tour fee is payable 4 weeks prior to the tour and is not refundable after this time. You should consider taking out Travel Insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances including illness, vehicle problems or family matters.
